FRESHMAN CLASS MEETING: TODAY during Advisory in the cafeteria. Report to Advisory for attendance and you will be called down for the meeting.

 

CONGRATULATIONS to the Varsity Scholar Bowl Team on their sectional win at the Masonic Tournament on Saturday, February 16. They were undefeated at the tournament and placed first among 12 schools. They will now advance to state!!!! Team members: Owen Henderson, Anissa Mumford, Justin Mumford, Kyle Hurst, Chloe Wankel and Jenna Fleming.

 

MANDADORY SPRING SPORTS ATHLETES & PARENTS MEETING: This Thursday, February 21, at 6:00 p.m. in the gym.

 

BASEBALL MEETING: This Friday during Advisory

 

AFTER PROM T-SHIRT DESIGN COMPETITION: Open to all juniors and seniors. Your design must fit on letter size paper. The theme for prom is Escape to Paradise. Deadline for design submission is Friday, February 22. Email your design to: shellar7@gmail.com

 

BLOOD DRIVE INFO: The annual blood drive is TOMORROW!  All student donors should eat a good meal before donating and bring a signed permission slip and ID with them to donate.  The blood drive will be held in the gym.  Student donors will be given a hall pass during advisory today.  Many donors are still needed.  Please encourage family and friends to come to the school between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. tomorrow to donate.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Block.

 

TRACK & FIELD FAN GEAR – There are order forms in the office if you are interested in ordering a track t-shirt. Cost is $13. Deadline for ordering is Friday, February 22.

GUIDANCE NEWS . . .

Juniors and Seniors--a representative from Southeast Missouri State University at Cape Girardeau will be here this Thursday, February 21st, at 1:35 to meet with interested students.  Sign up in the guidance office by the end of the day Wednesday to attend.

 

Juniors and Seniors--Kaskaskia College Cosmetology will be hosting its spring High School Visit Day on March 21st from 1-4 p.m.  Space is limited so see Mrs. Fisher if you would like to reserve your spot.

 

Eastern Illinois University is hosting an English Studies Camp for high school students on their campus July 21-27.  This includes creative writing, literature, media studies, and professional writing.  Scholarships are available to attend this camp.  For more information see Mrs. Fisher.

 

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

*NEW: Dairy King is accepting applications for the spring and summer season. Please go to the website for an application or pick one up at either the Trenton or Breese location. www.edairyking.com There will also be open interviews for the Trenton location on February 18, from 2-6 p.m. at the Breese Dairy King.

 

*NEW: TLA Nursery is hiring workers for digging tree seedlings. Everyone starts in the field and will move indoors once counting and grading begins. Pay is $10 per hour and students must be 16 years old. Contact Dave Varel at Tree Little Acres Nursery at 618-541-0633 if interested.
