BLOOD DRIVE: The National Honor Society is once again hosting a blood drive at the high school. This year’s blood drive will be held on Wednesday, February 20, from 9 am to 2 pm in the high school gym.

Student donors must be at least 16 years old. ALL student donors must have a valid ID and a signed

permission slip in order to donate. NHS members will be signing up student donors this week during

lunch hours. Students may also see Mrs. Block during advisory to sign up for a donation time.

 

Congratulations to the ACES (formerly WYSE) team for their 2nd place finish at last week's regional competition.  The Warriors narrowly lost to Nashville, but beat Mater Dei, Breese Central, Carlyle, Greenville, Salem, and Vandalia.  Earning individual medals were: Owen Henderson - 1st in English, 3rd in Physics, Nate Brede - 2nd in Drafting, 3rd in Physics, Anissa Mumford - 2nd in Physics, Jamie Kattenbraker - 2nd in Math, and Chloe Wankel - 3rd in English.  The WYSE team will next compete at the SWIC Sectional on March 8th.  

 

FCA MEETING: There will be an FCA meeting Thursday morning at 7:15 in Mr. Brede's room. There will be plenty of food so come hungry.

 

TRACK & FIELD FAN GEAR – There are order forms in the office if you are interested in ordering a track t-shirt. Cost is $13.

 

BASEBALL TEAM/FAN GEAR – The baseball team has fan gear available in its team store: https://stores.inksoft.com/WS11549. The last day to order is February 18.

 

Clarification on FTC Robotics Team results: they won 1st place in the regional championship. They also won 3rd place for having the best program on their robot.

 

FFA WEEK: February 19 – 25

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

*NEW: TLA Nursery is hiring workers for digging tree seedlings. Everyone starts in the field and will move indoors once counting and grading begins. Pay is $10 per hour and students must be 16 years old. Contact Dave Varel at Tree Little Acres Nursery at 618-541-0633 if interested.
